about

This track is about Fala Moor (again) and plays with the ambience and what we think of as ‘outdoors’. The Moor is a large open space that invites walking and thinking. Often there is much wind and open sky interspersed with birds and distant traffic. This version is standing off the edge of a small wood overlooking the heather on a rise.

There is a simple melodic idea like a breath, a semi-tone, and playing it once means there will be more to follow. It returns and changes every time. It becomes a longer sequence of ideas and is composed of strong sounds and statements. It lets the wind of the Winter Moor pass through on its way to somewhere else, and it leaves you breathing more deeply. This is about a large open sky.
