Up on a local loch(lake) (Scottish-Canadian bilingualism), the small waves broke on the rocky shore while flocks of geese came and went. The wind was recorded with a small Bass Aeolian harp giving a voice to the gentle steady breeze blowing on that cold winter day. The pedal tones are foundations that the melody plays around. The lapping waves provide rhythmic counterpoints of surprise and punctuation.
This music is about the hills that surround the loch and the way they absorb you into the landscape. To be held by the landscape in an embrace that is full of waves and birds and breath.
“Bancroft & Lyne add a veneer of most eloquent intimacy to the art of the [voice and bass] duet.” JAZZDAGAMA
“The music here is jazz and folk, delivered with an intimacy and joy.” M Dohery Tom Lyne
